Want a way to get your students motivated to review?  Try out Kahoot!

Kahoot! is an online program that allows you to create interactive quizzes, discussions and polls.

I personally have used the quiz function and my students love it.  What makes them love it?  The competition!  Kahoot! awards students points when they answer a question correctly.  The quicker you answer, the more points you earn.  It also lets them know how far behind/ahead they are.  Students are motivated to pick a correct answer quickly in order to beat their peers.

You'll like the fact that students get immediate feedback.  You also get to see the number of students that got a question right, so you can talk about missed question right away.

At the end of a quiz you can download the results for a more in depth look at how your students performed.

How can you use it?

  • Review a previously taught topic
  • Gauge students' prior knowledge
  • Gather opinions to start a class discussion
